MONDAY 24th DECEMBER - PETER ABBOTT

Belgian Div 2 side FC Tournai have discovered that since the start of the season the club owes 16.637,50 Euros to their landlords (the local council) at Stade Luc Varenne. Apparently the club thought they had been paying their rent, but there are other sums involved. The clubs directors will meet on 10 January 2008 and the landlords (the local council) have agreed to wait until 15 January. Meantime some officials at the club have reportedly approached Harelbeke as they prepare for possible expulsion from not only the league, but possibly the ground (and that would also affect Peruwelz who are currently sharing the venue) too. The ground requires three more security cameras to be installed and the gravel around the pitch must be removed to comply with current Belgian FA requirements for Div 2 grounds.

WEDNESDAY 12th DECEMBER - PETER ABBOTT

Last Saturday's (8 Dec) power cut at Belgian Div 1 club Brussels FC in Molenbeek has been repaired. The postponement may still result in a 0-5 forfeit score in favour of visitors RC Genk as neither the Belgian FA nor the referee had been forwarned of the problem before the game was due to start and the fault solely affected the club and not the neighbours, etc. This weekend's Belgian Div 2 table topping match between Tubize and KVKortrijk at the Allee des Sports in Tubeke has been put back to Sunday 16 December ko 14-30 due to known (and notified) problems with the floodlights at the ground. Molenbeek take note!
